Default Facilities for other sports

Facilites for other sports in India are too less. If you are a cricketer then you will get lots of facilities. Do you think facilities should be given to other sports too?

Why not, definitely YES. But the craze for cricket in our country has overgrown and its next to impossible to beat it.

I think some large sports training institutes should be started in India exclusively for lawn tennis, shooting, boxing, swimming etc, this would highly encourage other games.

Though i feel, the Olympic medals have already lighten up the minds of few people.

in India, only when someone excels in a particular sport, only then does the sport get some popularity. that popularity also dies down after some time.
what needs to be understood is that you can expect talent to come up without facilities. people think that there is no talent so no use spending money on facilities. but the thing is only after these facilities are made available, only then the talent will come up.

well i wud just say that BCCI , the board of control for cricket in india, is a private autonomous body...whereas all the other sports in india are normally governed by the government and u know the difference between DTC and METRO.....

so there is no point in arguing as we all know that better advertising and marketing makes ur product sell....

i just hate those sportsmen who dnt play the game for love for the game....and just want recognition.... if they were so hell bent on receiving the recognition, tell me if they were stopped 2 play cricket...?? did govt. or any of us go to them slapped them and said...no dude play billiards???

We need radical reforms in your sports policy to attract talent in every sports. I strongly believe that India has vast talent pool for every sports and what needed is only nurturing the talent.

yeah cricket is been a big sport in india, thats the reason it is paid alot and even THE BCCI board is encouraging other sports and games by providing funds from the profits earned.
