Not kathmandu, but I have visited the borders of Nepal at DB (Dulhabadi). There is a huge gate that separates India and Nepal, I crossed that, no passport required. But yes, the phone calls get international there

Yes Kathmandu is a very nice city. Peoples don't need a passport to go there & we buy things on very cheaper rates.

Hi, I lived in Kathmandu for three months in 2002. It was lovely, but I like India better! Actually, I found that things were not so cheap in Kathmandu, only because Nepal is geared to foreign tourists more so many things are sold in US dollars and priced for Westerners. Also many daily things have to be imported from India overland so that puts the prices up. It was still nice, the mountains are lovely and the people on the whole friendly. I went to Sivaratri at Pashupati temple, which was great. Also to Bodhanath for Buddhist New Year, and both of those were in February, so it's a good time to go (cold though!)

Here's a link to a picture taken at Pashupatinath: << Spam Link Removed >>

Yes, I have visited this place. It's really a great place for tours. There are lots of things to do and also many places to see where you can enjoy every moment of your life. I think, the Kathmandu tour is one of my best tour.
